I am trying my best to use 100% english here but there will be time that i'll use malay to explain anything. In advanced, you'll be noticing many poor/broken english so be prepared :-) This time round, I'll be sharing my experience on my trip to Singapore on 23rd January this year. (I know that is a major major throwback but who cares :p)
Fyi, This was my 3rd trip to Singapore but my first time travelling without my parents with me. A 3 days 2 nights trip with my siblings. As usual, the first thing to do when you planned to go for a trip overseas is booking a flight tix. We went there by the help of Air Asia's plane. (idk but for me i think Air Asia offers the best rate for flight ticket) Nope this post is not sponsored by Air Asia but yeahh do book your flight tix from Air Asia not only because of their low rate but they have beautiful flight attendant as well :p
Soon as i arrived Changi International Airport, something that caught my eyes is this seriously i dont know how to describe this but its a group of hanging balls moving creating a beautiful motion (?) I dont have a decent picture of it because there are too many humans surrounding it but here's an ugly version. At least it can help you picture it.
We took Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) to get around all places in Singapore throughout the trip. IT IS SUPER AH-MA-ZINGGGGG I TELL YOU! I really really love the transport system there in sg. So accurate, fast, affordable and very systematic T___T I wish we have it here in Malaysia as well. Its like, it connected every single places in Singapore and you dont have to worry being lost in the middle of nowhere.
Since my sg trip is earlier this year, i cant really remember every single activity we had done but i can roughly share what i've remembered. (see, told you. excuse my poor english. im still trying) Our first destination is to Bright Star Hotel located in Lorong 17 Geylang. We took mrt from Tanah Merah Station to Al-Junied, its the east west line in sg. Its quite far from the MRT station but quite good and easy to find halal food especially for muslims because they have mamak stall + 7 eleven convenience store nearby.
After checking in and unpacked our things, we decided to take a rest before wandering around to Bugis Junction. (Stopped at Bugis Station) A very huge buildings consist of shopping malls, office tower and connected to Intercontinental Hotel. I really love the white buildings + glass covered shopping streets. (ofcourse a perfect spot for my ootd picture)
But the things are quite expensive to shop there because its one of the main attraction for tourist + we dont bring a lot of dollars so we decided to buy food and sat at the center point of the junction.
There's a huge giant screen there displaying SNSD's Asia Tour,so....... XD Besides the high-end shopping market in Bugis Junction, there is also a street style market, Bugis Street located beside the building. We went there to find some food and souvenirs. Oh and just an additional fact to share, there's one halal food stall in Bugis Street selling kebab plus the auntie there is so generous.
not to forget the popular fruit juice stall selling different kind of juice. if im not mistaken the price is around 3 dollars per cup, i think so (please correct me if im wrong) A MUST TRY IF YOU ARE IN SINGAPORE. One funny + embarrassing thing happened there was, we said 3 ringgit instead of 3 dollars when purchasing the drinks so they were like, whut (?) Because honestly it doesnt feel like we are in overseas. The architecture, the people. It feels like home. Ewahhh XD
There's nothing much we've done on the first day because we were not use to the mrt yet plus we wanted to reserve our energy for the next day. So we decided to stop by at a mamak stall (near the Al-Junied station) and buy our dinner, maggi goreng and milo ais :p Typical Malaysians, we are.
just look at the neatly arranged bicycles and how clean the mrt station is. This is why I love Singapore. *thumbs up*
At night, we spend our time in the hotel because its too dark plus we''ve heard that Geyland Road is 'active' at night soooo.... we are too scared to take a walk. Thank god they have KBS World here in Singapore, the life saver :p
Till then, i'll continue writing Singapore Day 2 tomorrow or maybe the day after tomorrow or maybe next week. Please look forward for the next post! :)
Regards,
sara.
