desk plus room tour

Okay hai everyone,

I've been delaying to write this post since forever and finally i figured out the time to write! I'll show you how my dorm room looks like. It wasnt so tumblr and dreamy like i wanted it to be, but as long as i feel like im home, i dont really mind!

Several days before semester reopen, i went shopping to buy for some organising bins and dorm essentials. To avoid buying unnecessary things, i drew out a plan of my desk and room. Jimat dan tidak membazir :) Surprisingly it helps to cut down some times to figure out how to sort my stuff when i moved in!

So when you first enter the house, you can see a not-so-huge living space where our study desk is. Let me tell you one thing, i honestly hate the idea of combining the study desk altogether. i cant watch movie or kdramas peacefully. OR EVEN DOING MY ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT THE DISTURBANCE FROM LOUD MUSICS. *angry face* (if you know what i mean) it bother me sometimes, sorry roomies :(

Here is the overview of my study space. Dont be fooled, it does not look organised and clean from clutter all the time. This was when i first move in past few days before classes starts.

Tips #1: to make it look more organise and clean, try setting a theme. I choose WHITE. You dont have to spend so much money buying those stuff from expensive stores. Be creative ;spray paint your magazine holder with white paint or find at the local dollar store. Read from my previous post here.

I really really suggest any college students to have organising bins. These are crucial to separate your stuff because i swear by the end of semester, your whole desk will be a mess with papers and notebooks.

Desk organisers are also life saver to store extra coins, batteries and other mini supplies. For a hijabi girl, i really need a place to store my pins. So, this thing comes in handy and easy to find when I need one!

Tips #2 : Brighten up your study desk with greens. Fake succulents is the best choice for a college students since we dont really have time to take care of a real one.

Mine is a real one, as you can see. They are struggling to survive XD

Tips #3 : To stay organise throughout the semester, you need A PLANNER and A CALENDAR! Make sure to make full use of it. Write every single important date and assignments.

This beautiful make up theme calendar and weekly planner is from BeautyHolics Anonymous. Get yours here.

Tips #4 : Buy lots and lots of command hooks/strips. U need that to hang extra clothes, bag packs and even earphone. because obviously the space provided by uni wont be enough.

Moving on to my room.

There is nothing much to describe.

Tips #5 : To make it more homey, do your own gallery wall. Print out FREE artworks from pinterest (make sure its legal). Since we are not allowed to make a hole on the wall, I use blue tack instead. or you may use command strips because they wont leave any mark on the wall.

Tips #6 : cover your bed with duvet to make it more comfy. because so you know, dorm room mattress are as hard as rock. habis sem pinggang patah. HAHA JK.

Here is the list of what i use to do my own gallery wall :

  • The huge world map is from Stickerrific
  • Wall quote is from Stickerrific as well.
  • Mini world map is from my friend.
  • D-I-Y calendar board. (The handwritten 2016 calendar from Wsonagi).

I hope the tips are useful! Comment down which part of the room is your fav :)

Regards,
sara.
