Highlight of our Osaka Trip is obviously at The Universal Studio Japan! I would say that it is way better than Universal Studio Singapore in terms of its attraction and activity. But if u have the opportunity to go for both then grab it! :-)
I went to USJ without my parents because honestly elderly and babies are not really advisable to come as most of the attractions here only roller coster and thrilling 4D rides. I mean, if u have all the money to just sit and enjoy the colourful view all day then why not kan haha

Tips 1# : To avoid long queue at the ticketing counter, it is advisable to buy your ticket online.
We took the early train at 7.00 am to Universal Studio to avoid human traffic and so that we can really spend most of our time there. (Railway Route : Ebisucho Station - Nippombashi Station - Tamagawa Station - Noda Station - Universal-City Station)
The theme park opened at 9.00 during summer. When we arrived there it was only 8.30 and the gate was not supposed to open yet but to our surprise there was already people on the roller coster XD So we entered the park earlier and straight away ran to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter haha.
Tips 2#: Make sure to plan ahead which 'world' in the universal are u going to enter first. As for USJ, i would advice to either line up for Harry Potter World or Minion Park before anything else because if not, u will end up waiting and standing for 2 hours just for a 5 minute 4-D ride.
So since our main intention of entering USJ is to visit the legendary Hogwarts, we went straight to Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is quite far from the main entrance. I got goose bump as soon as i enter the "world" because everything is exactly the same as in the movie even THE BGM! T_T
Entrance gate to Hogsmeade!
If you are a potter head, im going to assure that you are going to stay hype and happy all day. can u imagine how beautiful it will be if its snowy season. and yes, thanks to my very organised sisters we have to only wait for 15 minutes to enjoy the 4-D ride! Along the waiting line, there are several display of the wizard class, the sorting hat (and it talks too!) and a few others harry potter trademark. i manage to take only a picture inside castle because its too dark.
During the ride, the system suspended halfway and we were stuck in the middle of the 4-D ride upside down and above us was a floating freaking big thorny cactus. even though its a fake thorn but STILL all i can think that time was my mum. the whole situation is so dramatic!!! we stood inside the capsule car upside down for about 10 minutes before it goes back to normal again. And as a compensation for the malfunctioned system, we were given another ride through the express lane! arigato!
After the ride, we wander around Hogsmeade and bought some souvenirs. although the price is quite high, please dont hesitate to buy at least the smallest souvenir there because u wont know when you will be coming back here kan kan. The best thing about the shop here is we can actually try on the robe without buying haha. ofcourse there’s a lot of people waiting in line to try the robe and u have to wait for them taking 1001 selfies before they actually decided to finish trying pffffttt i wish i could buy one but guess what people the price for that is RM500!!!!!! WHO WOULD BUY A BAJU FOR HALF A THOUSAND. NO THANKS. (tbh i would if i can wear it daily to school lol)
i was like "kenapa takde sekolah macam ni dekat malaysia" all the way along the shop.
there’s also a place where they sell all sorts of magic wands, the frog chocolate (?), the flying broom etc. im not really sure what is the exact name of the product because im not a hardcore potter head so i dont memorise all that details XD
but one thing for sure, do not ever miss out the iconic butter beer drink! Price is around 400 yen. and dont worry, its an alcoholic-free drink :-) i can say we are very very lucky that day because the line is smooth. what i've read from blogs and review; the line are actually super long if u came to buy after 10 am.
while enjoying the drink, we were very fortunate as there was a choir going on beside the drinking stall. SUPER COOL SHOW!
there is also a mini roller coster beside the castle, not that thrilling but it was fun!
side note : please dont hesitate to visit the toilets because it is not just an ordinary toilet. Remember there’s a scene in harry potter where there’s a girl ghost flirting with him if im not mistaken….the toilet interior is so beautiful with that girl’s voice as background music…..
oh yeah i missed out one point, i am actually having a fever that day so by the time we finished touring the castle i almost pass out. but i tried to hold it in and continue walking to another park which is THE JAWS. yasssss
By the time we enter the Amity park, its extremely hot and the queue line is so long. it took us almost 45 minutes for the ride. but no regrets, it is extremely exciting!!!!! real fire, real gas and there’s even a few live size sharks attacking the boat!! obviously not the real one lah haha
air yang tenang jangan disangka tiada shark |
since its a seafood based restaurant, we had our lunch there. if possible please dont buy the shrimp nuggest because literally, its a cucoq udang but saltier. There is no legit halal logo inside Universal Studio, so if u guys hesitate to eat the seafood please bring your own food to survive hehe.
at the restaurant, i cannot tahan anymore, my body is extremely tired and all sweaty. thanks to my organised sisters again, they brought along paracetamol and i end up taking a nap in public BUT WHO CARES
Next theme park, JURASSIC PARK!
There is two major attraction in the Jurassic world, both are roller coster but different nerve-wrecking level. one is the flying dinosaurs which u can already imagine how crazy it is. the rail is above you instead. 151ft tall and there’s nothing between you and the ground. you are legit flying. here is the youtube video animation if you are wondering how would it feels like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHHXpdZyJk4
the other one is Jurassic Park : The Ride. WE WAITED FOR 1AND A HALF HOUR FOR THIS RIDE. i thought it was just a normal ride, wasnt expecting i am going to be drop from 85 feet tall into the water?!?!?! because the ride starts out very calm and even the dino is so innocent. dont be fooled, at first we were brought along to the herbivore habitat where dinosaurs eating grass (obviously) before entering the restricted zone where there’s a lot of venomous dino trying to escape from the gate. and lastly you’ll be exactly at the mouth of the T-rex before u are soaked into the water…. WHAT A JAW DROPPING EXPERIENCE.
luckily we brought along our raincoat, so only our shoes are soaked with water.
Here’s comes the cutest theme park ever! Minion Park. i like it how people really hype up the summer vibes by bringing their water gun and wore minion tees.
There was also a summer festival happening that day, so we joined the sea of human to watch the parade and water splashing festival XD i promise you, that was really fun.
